We have a very special conference this week held in GREEN LECTURE HALL (in the med school), 8am-2pm.

We have FLIP and it will be hosted by Dr. Thomas Liu and Dr. Jeren Wong.

The topic this week is: Trauma (Thoracic and Spine)

For CME crediting the people listed below will be participating in rotating stations for 2.5 hours including  Dr. William Berk, Dr. Robert M. Wahl (Bobby), and Dr. Rob Klever, Dr. Hannah Ferenchick,

ATTENDING FACILITATORS, PLEASE PLAN TO BE THERE FROM 9:30AM - NOON.

The schedule is as follows:

 

8:00-8:30 : Quiz Review - Dr. Claire Min-Venditti

 

8:30-9:30:  Oral Boards- Dr. Elizabeth Dubey featuring Indiana's Dr. Britney Rooney, and mayor of Troy Michigan, Dr. Sean Farley

 

9:30-10:00:  Visual Diagnosis- Dr. Rob Klever. Cervical spine findings on XR (pseudosubluxation in kids), stable vs unstable, signs of cord impingment. Name a mechanism from image. AND Thoracic trauma. 

 

10:00-10:30: Thoracic trauma: Megacase- Dr. Bobby Wahl.  ATLS Oral Boards Style

 

10:30-11:00:  Dispo Challenge!-  Dr. Bill Berk - Residents will be given case scenario of presentation, labs, meds. Their role starts as they re-evaluate the patient (played by attending), and explain their disposition and answer questions.

 

11:00-11:30: Break

 

11:30-12:00: Procedural station- Dr. Hannah Ferenchick - chest tubes and pigtails indications, and Troubleshooting PleurEvac,  

 

12:00-1:00: Morbidity and Mortality Rounds - Dr. Claire Min-Venditti
