It’s a fact of life that faculty and staff who contribute in positive ways to the life of the university will be asked to do more. But how much is too much? And how does one decide among the myriad options to make a positive difference? Associate Provost Annmarie Cano will lead this session with exercises designed to align your values (i.e., what brings you meaning in your life), your service commitments, unit factors for promotion to create a plan to pursue your goals and remain balanced.

By attending this session, you will be able to:

  1. Articulate your valued domains of work and life
  2. Identify those areas of current and desired service that align with your values and unit factors for promotion
  3. Identify shared values with supervisors
  4. Role play methods of communicating your values and desires for service to others
