Hormonally-Mediated Depressive Disorders"
Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:
1. Articulate the criteria for diagnosis of PMDD and options for treatment.
2. Screen for perinatal depression with the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), describe the prevalence of depression in pregnancy and postpartum and discuss management considerations related to pregnancy and breastfeeding.
3. Utilize neuroactive steroid GABA-A receptor-positive allosteric modulators in the treatment of postpartum depression.
4. Explain the factors important in the identification and treatment of perimenopausal depression.
