Join officials from Wayne State University, Queen Lillian LLC and Jenkins Construction Inc. for the ceremonial groundbreaking to celebrate the construction of a new five-story, $18.4 million medical office building that will serve as the new home for the WSU Department of Psychiatry.

Expected to open January 2013, the building will add 62,846 square feet of new office space in Detroit and is anticipated to create 280 jobs.

The building will be constructed in Detroit’s Midtown area on 2.7 acres located between Interstate-75 and Beaubien, north of Mack Ave. The ceremonial groundbreaking will include comments by representatives from the development and construction companies, the WSU School of Medicine, the office of the mayor of Detroit and the Detroit City Council.

Parking is available off of Beaubien/St. Antoine (north of Mack Ave.). Turn right onto the private road between Spain Middle School and Friends Community Church.
