Kickoff of NeuroCollaborate Series – Join Us!

The Ben L. Silberstein Institute for Brain Health at Wayne State University is excited to announce the kickoff of the NeuroCollaborate series, a new Institute for Brain Health initiative designed to bring together researchers across disciplines to spark collaborations around timely and impactful brain health topics.
The first session will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Integrative Biosciences Center (IBio), and will feature Nicole Parker from Lewis-Burke and Associates, who will lead a discussion on the federal landscape for brain health research opportunities. The agenda will be:
3:00 Check in, refreshments, and mingling
3:15 Lewis-Burke and Associates funding landscape overview
3:45 Identify impactful research topics & connect with fellow researchers
Topics will include:
- Funding opportunities through NIH and other federal agencies (e.g., DoD, ARPA-H, SAMHSA)
- Current administration priorities (e.g., Chronic health issues, nutrition, Alzheimer’s disease)
- Connections to the MAHA agenda
- Evolving research methods, including reduced reliance on animal models and the integration of AI
- Congressional perspectives and alignment with administration priorities
In addition, time will be spent identifying topics of interest for future NeuroCollaborate meetings, ensuring the series reflects the needs and priorities of Wayne State's research community.
