Active Shooter Training
In this presentation, participants will be provided a PowerPoint presentation and two short videos on basic active shooter training skills.
Learning objectives:
- What is an active shooter?
- Who are these active shooters? (Go over statistics on past active shooters and what to look for)
- What you should do?
- Police response.

Lieutenant Rana Eljaafari, L-61 has been with Wayne State University Police Department (WSUPD) since 2013 and worked for the Detroit Police Department for over 6 years prior to joining the WSUPD force. Lt. Eljaafari is currently the lieutenant in charge of the Campus Community Section and Crime Prevention for our department. She is also the lead instructor for our Taser, First Aid, CPR and AED training.
