In its various forms, art continues to serve as a vehicle of expression that captures the historical essence of the evolutionary journey of enslavement, emancipation, political movements, and social justice for African Americans. Both visual and performing art encapsulate the richness of the African American cultural experience.
Performing artists (WSU faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community friends) who wish to pay tribute to the African American experience through song, dance, poetry/spoken word, and musical instruments will showcase their talents.
The UGL will also display an African American visual art exhibition throughout June.
